
Abby S. Reeves is a cellist and composer working across classical, improvised and experimental contexts. Her work explores texture, form, and embodiment, as well as the relationships between acoustic and electronic sound, place and eachother.
In 2021, she was granted the New North Emerging Artist Commission. Since then, she has released her debut album on Altered States Tapes and performed at a variety of events and venues, including, among others, Substation, NGV, Make It Up Club, Phoenix Central Park, Museum of Old and New Art (MONA), Florence St Studios, Eastmint, the Melbourne Now festival, and MPavilion as part of their Dusk till Dawn series.
She has worked with many artists, to name just a few: Lisa Lerkenfeldt, Helen Svoboda, Mara Schwerdtfeger, Ana Roxane, Duré Dara, Penelope Trapps, Geneveive Fry, and Grace Fergusson.
She has completed a Bachelor of Music (Interactive Composition) at the Victorian College of the Arts, alongside a Diploma in Music Production at Collarts.
